What Is Valentine’s Day Charades?

Valentine’s Day charades is just like normal charades, except it’s Valentine’s Day-themed. It makes charades a little more interesting when you’re just words associated with Valentine’s Day. Kids get a kick out of these themed type games too.

Is Valentine’s Day Charades Appropriate For Kids?

This is the perfect game for kids! But, it’s also the perfect game for adults. I feel like it’s really just the best family game.

Charades is something that’s super easy to throw together, especially last minute. It can be fun and challenging for all ages.

What Do I Need To Play?

The great thing about charades is you hardly need any supplies. All you need is some paper, scissors, and a pencil or pen. You might also want a bowl or hat to put the papers in, if you want to draw them.

Additionally, you might want to set a timer for how long people have to do their clue. You can use your phone for this.

Use the paper and pencil to write down all the words and then cut them out into little slips of paper. Or if you download the cards, then you just need to cut them out. You can also use paper to keep score.

How To Play Charades

  1. Split up into teams.
  2. Choose a team to go first, and pick a person from that team to go first.
  3. That person draws a word from the hat or bowl and tries to act it out in front of their team to try and get them to guess the word.
  4. If you are timing it, start the timer and the team has that long to guess the word.
  5. The person acting is not allowed to use words or sounds or point to objects in the room.
  6. If the word or phrase is guessed right before the timer goes off, they get one point.
  7. Now it’s the other team’s turn. You only guess when your team is the one doing the acting.
  8. The team with the most points at the end of the game wins.
  9. The game ends when each team has gone an equal amount of times. You can set a timer or go until your words run out, or until everyone has gone once or twice.

You can also let the person doing the acting try to act out as many words as they can before their timer is up. Another variation is to let the other team steal. If a team can’t guess the word by when the timer goes off, then the other team gets one guess to steal the point.

Valentine’s Day Charades Game Variations

One of the great things about charades is it doubles as Pictionary as well. You can use the same words to play Pictionary. You would just need something for the teams to draw on instead of acting them out.

Another variation is to not split up into teams. You just have each person take turns acting out (or drawing) and just have fun.
