How to Make Bubble Foam or Foaming Bubbles for Kids

How to make foam bubbles

In this post you will learn how to make bubble foam for your kids to play in. It’s easy, fun, and super quick to do.

Bubble Foam

I would play in bubble foam all day if I could. It is so much fun. It feels super cool, and as an adult, I thought it was a super cool activity.

Not only is it cool, but it is super easy to make, and super fast. If you ever need 30 minutes of piece and quiet, I highly recommend mixing up a batch or two of bubble foam. I think next time we’re going to make a whole tub of it, and let my kids get in the tub.

The ingredients for this are (usually) items you already have in your house.

Bubble Foam Supplies

Supplies

Water
Bubble bath (You don’t have to use an expensive brand, I was worried about that, but mine was from the dollar store. Really you can use dawn soap, or anything soap that bubbles well, but if you want it tear free, use kids soap.
Food Coloring (If desired. I  think it makes it more fun.)
Mixer (either a handheld one or a kitchen aid. I have a sunbeam, and it worked great.)

Bubble Foam Instructions: (the short version)

-Use 1 part bubble bath and 2 parts water and place in mixer.
-Mix on high until foamy.
-Add in food coloring while it’s mixing.

Bubble Foam Instructions: (the long version with pictures)

Use 1 part bubble bath and 2 parts water and place in mixer. We did about half a cup of bubble bath and a cup of water. It made a decent amount I was surprised. A whole sink full.

Mix on high until foamy. It’s pretty cool watching the bubbles get foamy. My kids loved it!

Add in food coloring while it’s mixing. We probably should have added the food coloring at the center, and we probably could have added more of it.

This activity seriously took like less than 5 minutes to make, and kept my kids busy for like 30-45 minutes.

You could turn this into good sensory play. You could add just about anything to this foam to play with. They had a blast! I actually enjoyed it myself. The foam feels really cool, and would actually be really soothing as an adult to play with. haha!
