Easy Homemade Bubble Recipe

Homemade Bubbles

I decided to make homemade bubbles one day when my kids wanted to do bubble painting and we ran out of bubbles. Plus, the bubbles I had were from the dollar store, which is great, I LOVE the dollar store, but I started thinking that maybe they weren’t good enough for the project I was doing.

I looked up a quick recipe, adjusted it to my liking and BAM! Homemade bubbles.

They are super easy and quick to make, and they are GOOD bubbles. They work with probably any activity you want to do that involves bubbles. We used them later in the week with a big bubble wand, and they worked perfectly. Plus, they are so easy to store.

I saved some wands that we had from the previous bubbles we were using, and voilà, the perfect homemade bubbles recipe.

Homemade Bubbles Recipe

Green Homemade bubbles (1)

Ingredients:

3/4 c Corn Syrup
5 cups Water
2 cups of Dish Soap (I thought I might have to use a nice dish soap like Dawn, but if you have some cheap stuff, it works too!)
Food Coloring (optional)
A container to store your bubbles- these would work great!

Instructions:

Measure out 5 cups of water and put it into a large bowl. (When I made bubbles this time, I halved the recipe because I didn’t want a huge thing, so if you want to do the same, it totally works).

Homemade Bubbles

Pour in 2 cups of dish soap.

Pour in 3/4 c of corn syrup.

Mix well, but don’t aggressively mix so that it gets super bubbly.

Add in food coloring, if desired. It will usually turn the color of your soap, so if you like that color, you can use that!

Store in a container.

You can use some bubble wands from other bubbles you might have or had to add to your bubble container. You can also buy a bundle of wands.

Other Ways to use Homemade Bubbles

These homemade bubbles are great for making giant bubbles. You can buy one of those rope wands, which are fantastic.

You could also make smaller, but still big bubbles with just a regular big plastic wand.

You can also do bubble painting, which needs strong bubbles!
