Teaching kids that God can use anyone—even when they feel nervous, unsure, or not “good enough”—is such an important lesson. And honestly, the story of Bible Moses is one of the best examples of that. Moses didn’t think he was the right person to lead God’s people, but God stayed with him every step of the way. This simple Bible lesson and coloring activity is an easy, meaningful way to help kids learn about courage, faith, and trusting God.

Bible Story Lesson: Moses and the Burning Bush (Exodus 3–14)

Moses had been living quietly as a shepherd when something incredible happened—he saw a bush that was on fire, but somehow it wasn’t burning up.

When Moses went closer, God spoke to him from the burning bush and told him He had a special job for him: leading the Israelites out of Egypt. But Moses was scared and unsure of himself. He kept telling God all the reasons he couldn’t do it.

Honestly… relatable 😅

But God reminded Moses that he wouldn’t be doing it alone. God would be with him.

Moses obeyed God and went to Pharaoh to ask him to let the Israelites go free. Pharaoh kept refusing, so God sent ten plagues to Egypt to show His power. After the final plague, Pharaoh finally let the Israelites leave.

But the story didn’t stop there.

As the Israelites escaped, Pharaoh changed his mind and chased after them. The people became terrified when they reached the Red Sea with nowhere to go—but God made a way. Moses stretched out his staff, and God parted the sea so the Israelites could walk across on dry ground.

It was an incredible reminder that God protects, guides, and provides for His people—even when situations seem impossible.

Key Verse:
“I will be with you.” – Exodus 3:12
