How to Make Easy Monster Corner Bookmarks
Materials Needed:
-
1 sheet of colored paper (6″ x 6″ works well; origami paper is great!)
-
Scissors
-
Glue stick or tape
-
Googly eyes or white paper to make eyes
-
Markers or crayons
-
Optional: Construction paper scraps for teeth, horns, tongue, or other monster features
Instructions:
Start with a Square
Begin with a square piece of paper (6″ x 6″ is ideal). If you only have rectangular paper, cut it into a square.
Fold Diagonally
Fold the square in half diagonally to create a triangle. Make sure the edges line up neatly and crease well.
Fold the Corners Up
Take the right corner of the triangle and fold it up to meet the top point. Do the same with the left corner. You should now have a diamond shape. Unfold both corners — you’ll need those crease lines in a moment.
Make a Pocket
Now, fold just the top layer of the bottom point of the triangle (the one facing you) up to the top point, forming a small triangle flap.
Tuck In the Corners
Take each of the side corners and tuck them into the flap you just created. This forms a little pocket — the base of your corner bookmark.

Decorate Your Monster
Time to give your monster some personality!
Glue on googly eyes or draw your own and cut them out.
Cut sharp or silly teeth out of white paper and glue them inside the opening.
Add horns, ears, tongues, or anything else to make your monster unique.
Use markers or crayons to add details like spots, scales, or funny expressions.
Let It Dry
If you used glue, allow your bookmark to dry completely before using it in your favorite book.
